Greensand
Greensand, also known as glauconite, is a mined iron potassium silicate mineral from marine mineral deposits. It provides a broad spectrum of over 30 primary and trace elements to naturally feed and condition your soil.
As a soil conditioner, greensand adds texture to improve both sand and clay soil by increasing cation exchange capability, improving moisture retention (holding up to 1/3 its weight in water) and breaking up hard clay.
Greensand is safe and non toxic to humans and animals. Unlike some chemical fertilizers, greensand won't burn your plants if you apply too much as it provides a natural slow release of nutrients.
Greensand has been used by gardeners for decades and gets is green colour due to its high mineral glauconite content. It is pulverized into a very fine powder so it is easy to use and Ecocert approved for organic agriculture.
As a general guideline, mix greensand evenly into your soil mix, or add 90ml greensand per 4L of soil or 3 tbsp per gallon of soil for all types of plants (vegetables, herbs, flowers, potted plants, lawns, trees, and more!
